THE TOP TEN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY DISABILITY INSURANCE

10. Your spouse can replace your income because she can get a good job anywhere. Employers understand that raising a family is an honest occupation and will finance him/her to relearn skills. Also, kids can earn some good money on paper routes.

9. You can live off of your savings. Surely you have at least 5 years of income stashed away! If not, you can easily borrow from the bank. They know you as a healthy, productive and solvent person. That's good enough for them.

8. You can depend on your company benefit disability insurance to be there and compensate you no matter what. After all, when you become disabled you won't mind retraining for a job you would never choose to do otherwise.

7. The mortgage company can wait. They won't mind. After all, they have to protect that 19 or more years you owe them. They wouldn't dare shut off your water and lights.

6. In the summer, don't worry about air conditioning, your family will get used to the heat. In the winter, heating is not a problem, you can move south. And as far as having a telephone, you can send your spouse next door at night to call your doctor.

5. You need so many other things - a new couch for the living room, a birdbath in the backyard, etc. So what if they take the cars, refrigerator or washer? There will be new and better models next year.

4. Bill collectors are human. They'll understand.

3. You pay taxes, and welfare is supported by taxes. You are entitled to it. Anyway, nothing is going to happen to you. Don't believe statistics.

2. You may pay for Disability Insurance and never collect. What a waste of money. You can save even more by getting rid of all Life, Auto & House Insurance.

1. Wait until you've had your first heart attack or car accident, then take out Disability Insurance to be prepared for your second one. After all, Insurance Companies welcome that type of risk.
